Playing Cards - Yucca Flower

This glorious bloom is a Yucca flower and the State Flower of New Mexico. The Yucca was adopted as the New Mexico State Flower on March 14, 1927 and is a symbol of both sturdiness and beauty. Metaphysicists associate the gorgeous Yucca with transmutation, protection and purification. In the King James Bible, Genesis 3:7 references Adam and Eve "sewing" fig leaves together to cover themselves. There are many Biblical scholars that believe "Adam's needle" (used in the sewing) was the sharp point of a Yucca leaf, and the threads were the attached Yucca fibres. There are numerous species of Yucca in North America and virtually all of them were used by Native American Indians in a multitude of ways. This glorious flower is only one of countless blooms on the spire that rises from the centre of the evergreen Yucca leaves every year.
