Coney, he was the first person to travel 24 hours across the country with only one fuel stop. He used a specialty built D.H.-4 army airplane. He made this trip on Feb 22-24. While there was a delay trying to get the right gas, he finally landed in Pablo beach, Jacksonville, Florida, travelling for 22 hours 30 min. The only food he had on board was two bottles of hot coffee and 4 lb. of chocolate.
