Orchids and hummingbirds were some of his favourite subjects, and this painting stands as one of his most beautiful. Cattleya Orchid and Three Humingbirds depicts a Cattleya orchid surrounded by two Brazilian amethysts hummingbirds and a red-tailed Sappho Comet hummingbird in the midst of a jungle at sunset.
