Pink Beach Indonesia Postcard

Pink Beach, or Pantai Merah as it is known locally, is another jewel of the Komodo National Park. Its name is fully earned, as the stretch of coastline features a striking natural phenomenon where the fine sand takes on a distinct pink hue. This incredible colour is created by the combination of white calcium carbonate sand and tiny red coral fragments from the nearby vibrant coral reefs. Located on a small island, the beach offers pristine, turquoise waters that contrast beautifully with the rosy sand. It’s a popular spot not just for its unique appearance, but also for its shallow coral reefs teeming with diverse marine life, making it a spectacular location for snorkelling and diving.
