The quilt is pieced from wool and cotton, combining tradition with vibrant colour contrasts. The design showcases strips arranged diagonally across each centre square, with angled and lapped ends, creating a dynamic visual effect. The traditional alternation of light and dark segments within each square forms a distinctive pineapple-like shape, adding depth and movement to the quilt. These blocks, in their rhythmic geometry, create the illusion of spinning, spiky wheels. The centre squares are traditionally red but here are a mosaic of red, blue, and black triangles, giving the quilt a striking appearance.
