Pieter Bruegel's "The Tower of Babel" (circa 1563)

Pieter Bruegel's "The Tower of Babel" (circa 1563)

Classic Painting of the Tower's Construction. A classic Northern Renaissance artwork that has passed into the public domain and makes wonderful gifts and other products. All of the Fine Art, Vintage Art, Classic Masterpieces, and other Antique Masterworks here at Masterpiece Gallery have been carefully edited and placed on products to provide the best possible results. We may not have as many items for sale as some of the bulk stores, but please be assured that we pay attention to the details and design each product for maximum positive effect. The Tower of Babel is one of two famous paintings by Breugel on this subject. The other is titled The "Little" Tower of Babel (also circa 1563). Both depict the construction of the tower with seven to ten layers in various stages of completion and the top still being built. Bruegel (1525-1569) was a Dutch Renaissance painter whose works include Landscape with the Fall of Icarus (circa 1558), The Tower of Babel (1563), as well as his famous peasant scenes. Also known as "Peasant Bruegel," he was father to Pieter Brueghel the Younger and Jan Brueghel the Elder, and uncle to Jan Brueghel the Younger. All of our products are made with large scale images that have been carefully edited to provide the best resolution, colour and detail possible.
