Pekka Halonen, Boy on the shore, 1891-93. Poika rannalla. The blonde boy on the picture is Pekka Halonen's almost fifteen years younger brother, called Little-Kalle. He, too, wanted to become a painter, just like his brother. Pekka Halonen showed the boy's works to his artist friends Eero Järnefelt and Akseli Gallén-Kallela, and they all thought him talented. Sadly, Little-Kalle died from pneumonia only twelve years old.
