Padar Island Indonesia Postcard

Padar Island is the third-largest island within the Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. While the main attraction of the park is the Komodo dragon found on neighbouring Komodo and Rinca islands, Padar is famous for one thing above all: its surreal, dramatic landscape from its highest viewpoint. A relatively short but steep hike takes visitors to a panoramic viewpoint that overlooks three main bays. What makes it so stunning is that each bay has a differently coloured sand beach: one is pearly white, one is charcoal black, and one is rare pink. The views are simply otherworldly, with rugged, sun-baked hills contrasting against the deep blues and turquoises of the surrounding ocean.
