"Over the whale road" - a 'kenning' (poetic phrase) from the famous Old English epic poem 'Beowulf' - is presented here in the Old English language, written in beautiful Old English runes, also known as Anglo-Saxon runes or 'the futhorc' (centre). This design also features the same phrase in Modern English (right), and in Old English, written in the English (Latin) alphabet (left).
