Ouray, Colorado is a tiny mining town, tucked in a box canyon. When folks were determined to get to the gold and silver, they figured out how to make a road out of the other end of that box canyon. The road leads to Silverton and then to Durango. They call it the "Million Dollar Highway." Ouray remains as a delightful tourist town full of great shops and restaurants and this historic hotel.
