"Oslo Opera House, Norway" by Catherine Sherman. The Oslo Opera House (Norwegian: Operahuset) is the home of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, and the national opera house in Norway. The building is situated in the Bjørvika neighbourhood of central Oslo, at the head of the Oslofjord. The roof of the building angles to ground level, creating a large plaza that invites pedestrian at no charge to walk up and enjoy the panoramic views of Oslo. Much of the building is covered in white granite and La Facciata, a white Italian carrara marble. To the right is "She Lies," a public sculpture made of stainless steel and glass panels, measuring about 39 feet (12 metres) by 56 feet (17 metres) by 52 feet (16 metres). The sculpture turns on its axis in line with the tide and wind, offering changing experiences through reflections from the water and its transparent surfaces.
