Original 2014 RAGNAROK Memorial MinkMug Coffee Mug

Well, apparently February 22, 2014 marks The End of the World—according to the Viking calendar. And not only does the world end, but all the gods, too! Cool, huh? So I thought it fitting to create a special MinkMug to commemorate this unprecedented event! For those of you familiar with the mythology, you'll recognize many of the featured motifs. There's Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent, front and centre, the one responsible for destroying Thor. You see Sleipnir, Odin's eight–legged horse leaping away after his master has been swallowed whole by the monster wolf Fenrir, his jaws snarling open in the corner. There's Surtr's gleaming bright sword, the one that killed Freyr. After that opening act, then the rest of the world follows in similarly spectacular destruction! I've created this original design in the stylistic flavours of Norse and Celtic art, combined with an array of bright colours, weirdness, and menacing expressions that help to amplify the chaos and devastation as only Vikings can conjure! And if you notice, Sleipnir will be the only one to escape this mayhem, since he's the only one not "contained" by the fiery red border—I love horses, so I had to have him survive! Some kind of happy ending! I specialize in all things equine, focusing mostly in realism but also diving into fun designs like this one found on my mug here.
