Orange Flaking Paint Tile

Another image showing my great fondness for worn and weathered textures, whether it be in wood, paint, rust on metal, or other signs of wear, age and exposure to the elements. Not only does images such as this make for a nice organic pattern, it also is a snapshot of time, as whatever the picture is of will be changing continuously as it is exposed to sunlight, wind, rain and the corrosive forces of humid air, and only for a short while will it look like this, sometimes only for the brief moment the picture was taken. I like how a picture can show both the passage of time as well as freezing it into a single moment. I think it makes a fashionably grungy texture too, this one in a lovely warm colour of orange towards red.
