Omen Birds, 2008-2010, by Peter Gumaer Ogden, 1957-, American. Santa Fe, New Mexico. Acrylic paint and ink on canvas board. Colourful postmodern tropical birds outsider art. The title "Omen Birds" is inspired by the traditions of certain New Guinea indigenous tribes who divine omens in the spectacular and brilliantly coloured birds which they often encounter in the rain forest wilderness. Due to this work's intricate detail it took Ogden over two years to complete it.
