This iconic photo was taken in the 1850s by Francis Frith, who was one of the pioneers of photography in the holy land. The town of Tiberias sits on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, not far from Magdala and Capernaum and was visited frequently by Jesus, when he preached and mistered in the Galilee.
