Old Rose Dresser Minton Palmette Border Tile Repro

We are pleased to bring you this striking design by Christopher Dresser for the Minton Tile Company. This tile is in old rose and black and was designed to be used as a border tile above a dado of plain tiles. Christopher Dresser was born in Glasgow Scotland in 1834 and died in 1904. He was a designer, lecturer, author, and theorist, artist, and botanist who is considered one of the pioneers of “modern” design. Dresser was one of the driving forces of the aesthetic movement and a major contributor to the Anglo-Japanesque style of the late 1800s. Many of his designs feature stylized designs from nature, reflecting his training in both art and botany. These tiles marry his interest in art, design and plants beautifully.
