There are so many well-known and forgotten forts in America, many of which changed how the United States grew as a country. This calendar exposes the reader to some of the rich history that took place at these historic sites. Some of the forts featured include Fort Abraham Lincoln, commanded by Lt. Col. George A. Custer, until he left his home at the fort to fight at the Battle of Little Big Horn. The Apple River Fort, which took all of seven days to build, and was one of the few attacked by chief Black Hawk during the Black Hawk wars of 1832. Fort Bridger, Fort Hall, and Bent's Fort played significant roles in helping emigrants reach the gold fields in California and the rich farmlands in Oregon and Washington. And there's more. I hope the brief history describing each photograph or site, as well as the additional information in the Index, encourages the reader to discover more about these forts, the people that created them, and those that interacted with them.

Firstly, I gave my mom a rescued bengal cat this past spring and I have been taking photos for her of her cat Maya. Instead of simply developing the photos and sending these to her by mail as we do not live close to one another, I let my imagination soar with Zazzle, added the best photos for the calender and added fun quotes to embelish each photo. Yes, it took time and a bit of effort, but if you had heard her intense delight to the calendar, gushing about the wuality of the print, the paper and how well made the calendar is, even her saying "not even one hundred dollars would not have made me happier than I am now. This is the perfect way to start my day and now I can show my cat to everyone when I leave the house!". I know she will bring it with her over the holidays to brag.
So if you are seeking an original gift, made with a bit of effort on your part if you plan ahead, I cannot think of a better way to do this. Make a calendar and let your imagination soar and surprise gift aomeone you care about! Beautifully printed, photos came out quite professional and the black and white print in my calendar is 100% quality.
