Old Beige Book Library Decoupage Tissue Paper

This tissue paper with a row of vintage book spines in beige was designed with decoupage artists in mind, especially those who are looking for book-themed designs. These beautiful old banded antiquarian book spines in shades of beige with faint gilt swirled flourishes are from the Victorian era (circa 1865). Books are the Waverley novels (hugely popular back in 1814-1831) by Sir Walter Scott including Kenilworth and The Heart of Midlothian. They were also the first historical novels as they are set in the 1700s. Numerous places around the world are now named Waverley after the novels. “…young Waverley drove through the sea of books, like a vessel without a pilot or a rudder."
