Oka’ Yanahli (Colour Saturated) Poster

This panorama highlights a springtime view of the landscape at a new Nature Conservancy's preserve called Oka’ Yanahli. Oka’ Yanahli (pronounced oh-kuh yuh-naw-lee) means "water flowing" in Chickasaw tongue. The Blue River defines the eastern boundary of the preserve. The location of the preserve, south of Connerville, Oklahoma, was visited during the semiannual JVB’s Hydrodays field trip. The hydrologists and geologists on the trip visited and studied natural springs discharging from the Arbuckle-Simpson aquifer (April 13-14, 2012).
