He himself once assumed the shape of an eagle and the hawk Vedrfölni / Wedrfölnir sits with the eagle on the world tree Yggdrasil. The Valknut honours Odin and the deceased. Eagles and hawks, falcons and ravens are ubiquitous creatures of Nordic stories, legends and mythology and are revered for their perceived wisdom. The design shows a bird of prey along with detailed Nordic decorations and the well-known Valknut symbol.
