North Carolina Dam overtopping Postcard
This is a shot of the Yadkin River overtopping the Patterson Dam in the north west of North Carolina. This shot was after a few weeks of rain in December 2012 and was shot with my new Nikon D800. I have to say that I was very glad to get such an interesting subject to shoot only a couple of days after getting the camera. I had to work hard to get it, though, wading ankle deep through some thick mud to get the base of the dam.
