I hadn't seen lotus flowers in real life or ever really paid much attention to them until I visited the Blue Lotus Water Garden in Yarra Junction, Victoria. My breath was taken away by the masses of swaying lotus flowers and their huge, circular leaves. I even bought a lotus plant to take home which is now blessing me with beautiful double pink blooms. My pen and ink drawing 'Nodding Lotus' is based on a photo I took while at the Blue Lotus Water Garden. As beautiful as the nodding flowers are I think it's the leaves that steal the show!

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
