This design features the flag of the state of New Mexico, which is in the Southwestern region of the United States. The flag consists a stylized red sun, a symbol used by the indigenous Zia people, on a field of yellow. It was officially introduced in 1925, having been designed in 1920 to celebrate the state's Native American Pueblo and Nuevo México Hispanic roots. The colours evoke the flags of Habsburg Spain (the Cross of Burgundy) and the Crown of Aragon, brought by the conquistadors. The capital city of New Mexico is Santa Fe. Other major cities in New Mexico include Las Cruces, Rio Rancho, Roswell, Farmington, Clovis, Hobbs, Alamogordo and Carlsbad.

This journal came in within a week of ordering it and I was thrilled! I love roses so I love having this journal. The size is perfect. Small enough to throw in a bag. The printing is clear. The pages are nice and thick. The binding is sturdy. The printing is a little darker than the photo on screen but that is expected with printing. It looks luxurious to me. I love deep red roses.
