Nautilus Shell in Coral Blue Grey on Light Peach Glass Coaster
This blue grey and coral nautilus pattern is displayed against a dusky blue. According to fossil records, animals similar to the chambered nautilus have existed for 500 million years or so. Unfortunately, the six living species of chambered nautilus appear to be in decline.
I love nautilus patterns, since their spiral, chambered shells remind me of infinity with their Fibonacci patterns. The word nautilus is derived from the Greek ναυτίλος nautílos and originally referred to the paper nautiluses called Argonauta, which are actually octopuses. The word nautílos literally means sailor, since these amazing sea creatures were originally thought to use two of their arms as sails. The nautilus is a marine mollusc that belongs to the cephalopod family Nautilidae.

Glass Coaster
Very nice glass coaster. A great personalized birthday gift for the Edmonton Oilers super fan.
I only wish the glass was thicker as it appears in the photos. Hope it hold up..
