This painting had the honour of appearing on the promotional material and program booklet for the 2006 New Year's Eve Concert given by Viva Orchestra in the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, England. Read on for the story of how I came to paint this scene. I was standing on the historic river front of Natchitoches, Louisiana. The parade was about to start. If you've ever seen the quaint, storybook setting of Natchitoches, you can understand the magical, festive atmosphere. The original is oil on canvas.
