Nakaoka Japanese Mon Crest Oak Leaves Maple Wood Throw Pillow

I have been fascinated with Japanese culture, language and craftmanship ever since I went to school and learnt Japanese, as well as practicing Aikido for a little while during my university days. A few years ago, I started creating products with Japanese family crests, known as mon or kamon, which of course has significant meaning to anyone who has one, but which also can serve as beautiful Japanese-style decorations for anyone else with an interest in Japanese culture. This particular one is Nakaoka, which a customer was looking for but couldn't find elsewhere, and so I designed one from a photo. I don't know much about this mon, but it looks to me like a stylised depiction of three oak leaves, and it is to my mind a crest that contains all the elements of a perfect mon: the three-fold symmetry, the simple design, and the feel of harmony and balance.
