Nagai is about an hour's drive from Yamagata City in Japan. Last year...in the Fall...bears were coming into town so frequently that the fire engines drove around on constant patrols, making noise to scare them off. They even entered an elementary school! Whatever anyone says about Japan, I know for sure that Nagai has bears!
