NC Wyeth , was an American artist known for his realist paintings and illustrations of the old west. During his lifetime, Wyeth became one of America’s greatest illustrators and he created over 3,000 paintings and illustrations. His early trips to the old west inspired images of cowboys and Native Americans that dramatized the frontier. This painting is called “The Moose Call”, and depicts an Indian hunter sitting in a canoe calling moose with a rolled bark trumpet .
