The V-22 Osprey is a multi-mission, tiltrotor military aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities. It is designed to combine the functionality of a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft. The MV-22B Osprey depicted here is the USMC amphibious assault version which conducts transport for troops, equipment and supplies, capable of operating from ships or expeditionary airfields ashore.
