Mother's Day card - mom & cub

This Mother's Day card features a photo of a 7 year old adult and her cub for rehab, which IBBR received on February 6, 2013. Since adult bears are not considered candidates for rehab, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all bear rehabilitators to observe the behaviour and activities of mom and cub in rehab. Mom had been shot in her front leg and was only able to walk on 3 legs. She was 80 pounds underweight so weak and not able to move very far or very fast. Her cub was forced to look for food on his own without mom by his side. Mom had a radio collar on and was part of a bear study so a trap was set. They captured her first and then her cub after that. They were reunited at IBBR when they both entered the rehab program. Both she and the cub will be released as soon as she gains weight and her wound heals. Please note that 15% of the proceeds of this item go directly to the care and support of orphaned bear cubs.
