Mother and Child by a River With Wild Roses Coffee Mug

This design features a painting by the Irish artist Mildred Anne Butler (1858–1941). It depicts a young woman wearing a pink dress with her daughter who is wearing a blue dress. The girl is walking along a brick wall with her bare feet as her mother holds onto her and supports her. There are some beautiful wild roses growing in front of the girl; the flowers are in various shades of pink and white. Other wildflowers are growing in the meadow behind the mother and daughter. There is a wide river that cuts through the meadow, and there are some hills and trees in the distance. The entire scene reflects the beauty of the natural landscape of Ireland. The sky is clear with just a few wispy clouds floating across. The original artwork was painted by Mildred Anne Butler in 1919.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
