毛利元就: Mōri Motonari, was a prominent daimyo in the western Chugoku region of Japan during the Sengoku period of the 16th century. Motonari is known as a great strategist who began as a small local warlord of Aki Province who extended his clan's power to nearly all of the Chugoku region through war, marriage, adoption and assassination. 百万一心/一日一力一心: Literally "Millions with one heart", or meaning "All for one" is the word of Motonari to unify his subject and retainer, for together they can achieve everything. The word "百万" means million in Chinese/Japanse, record said that when he passed the word to his retainer by letter, the word is purposely writen slightly apart and became "一日一力", which is "the same day" and "cooperation" in Japanese. 小早川と吉川: Kobayakawa and Kikkawa, referring to his second and third son (Kikkawa Motoharu and Kobayakawa Takakage)that has been adopted to Kobayakawa Clan and Kikkawa Clan, which both of them later became the head of clan, and fought together with their elder brother Mori Takamoto who became the head of Mori after Motonari decided to retire from his position. In the background is the kamon (family crest) of Sanada, Ichimonji Mitsuboshi (一文字三星) or "One character and three star", follow by the kamon of Kobayakawa and Kikkawa, and three arrow on the centre reflecting the spirit of brotherhood between the three clans. At the bottom is the samurai signature of Motonari.
