This intricate Moorish pattern was taken from the book, Les Éléments de l'Art Arabe, by the French architect Jules Bourgoin (1838-1908), published by Firmin-Didot in Paris in 1879 (https://archive.org/details/LesElementsDeLArtArabeBourgoin). Superluminal's Portable Imagery specializes in home furnishings and paper goods featuring designs by William Morris; classic paisleys, batiks, Indian, Japanese, and Chinese textiles; carpet patterns from Turkey, Persia, the Caucasus, India, and Central Asia; Moorish and Turkish ceramic designs; flora and fauna from antiquarian books; alchemical images and Persian miniatures.
