Monument to Mignard by François Boucher Throw Pillow

Monument to Mignard c1735 by French Painter François Boucher (1703 - 1770); also known as a draftsman, engraver and decorator in the French Rococo style, was well known for his lavish mythological, allegorical and motifs and was the court painter of Louis XV and a favourite of the Marquise de Pompadour. Monument to Mignard is a tribute to the either one of the Mignard brothers. There was Pierre Mignard (1612 - 1695), known as Mignard le Romain and Nicolas Mignard (1606 -1668) known as Mignard d’Avigno french painters known for their portraits and religious and mythological scene. It depicts Mignard sitting on an obelisk pedestal ledge with a young lady (maybe a model) with two sleepy cherubs. A possibly dead bird in the arm of one of the cherubs with a painters palette with paint brushes on the side; and what appears to be death cloaked in a large drape, while standing on the side of the obelisk with a sickle in his right hand.
