"In Defence of Brutalism" is a heroic view of the handsome Contemporaine building, designed by Ralph Johnson. The print was painstakingly yet lovingly hand-drawn in ink on vellum by an architect (me) before being scanned into Photoshop, where the colourful background illustrations were added. Although the Brutalist style of architecture has fallen out of vogue, the bold forms and ascetic materials of the Contemporaine hark back to the days of "form follows function."
