Moab Utah Arches National Park Sunset Postcard

Arches National Park, located in eastern Utah near the town of Moab, is famous for its dramatic landscape of natural sandstone arches, towering rock spires, and other wind-carved formations. Covering over 76,000 acres, the park is home to more than 2,000 documented arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch, which has become an iconic symbol of Utah. Erosion over millions of years has shaped the Entrada and Navajo Sandstone into these remarkable structures, along with fins, pinnacles, and balanced rocks. The park’s high-desert environment features a mix of red rock terrain, sparse vegetation, and sweeping vistas, especially striking during sunrise and sunset when the rocks glow in deep shades of orange and red. Popular areas within the park include Landscape Arch in Devils Garden—the longest natural arch in North America—Double Arch, Balanced Rock, and the Windows Section. Hiking trails range from short, easy walks to longer, more rugged treks, and photographers are drawn to the ever-changing light and shadow across the formations. Arches National Park also offers opportunities for stargazing, as it’s designated a Dark Sky Park, where the Milky Way is visible on clear nights.
