Reproduced from the original circa 1880 antique Minton TIle. One of a series of biblical themed tiles by John Moyr, this one shows an angel standing over Jacob as he dreams (Genesis 28:12) of a ladder from earth to heaven. It is in this dream that God reassured Jacob that He would give to his descendants the land He promised to Abraham and Isaac (Israel), and to make his offspring as numerous as the dust of the earth.
