Mural Project unites local artists, art students, and youth to improve and beautify Oakland Animal Services (OAS) through the creation of indoor and outdoor murals that reflect the positive and loving spirit of the shelter and its animals, staff, and dedicated volunteers. The "Mend" mural featured on this mug was installed and created by artist David Polka in early 2017. This mug celebrates the power and beauty of art, animals, and Oakland! I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
