Medium ring with ten sasas facing sparrow tile

The sparrow lives in a bamboo forest and is inseparable from bamboo. In reality, it is likely that the sparrow was added as an accompaniment to the bamboo. However, ancient people did not see this sparrow as a mere accompaniment. They considered it a divine messenger to summon the gods to the yorishiro, just like the dove at the Hachiman shrine or the crow at the Kumano shrine. It is a bird that summons or invites the gods. (From 'Kamon Hyakuwa (Upper)' by Danwa Keiji) Bamboo is not directly associated with such shrines, but it is a yorishiro that accompanies the invitation. (Same book, p.320) The name is based on 'Edo Monsho-shu'. Note that 'Mon no Izumi' and 'Monsho Dai Shusei' refer to it as 'Round with Sasa facing Sparrow'.
