Measure Speed Of Light Newton Corpuscle (Physics)

Measure Speed Of Light Newton Corpuscle (Physics)

Physicists and physics majors into optics and light will enjoy any of these educational, scientific gifts featuring the corpuscular theory of light as set forward by Sir Isaac Newton, This theory states that light is made up of small discrete particles called "corpuscles" (little particles) which travel in straight line with a finite velocity and possess kinetic energy. The Fizeau–Foucault apparatus was designed by the French physicists Hippolyte Fizeau and Léon Foucault for measuring the speed of light; this apparatus was later improved upon by Michelson. This apparatus and the results from their experiment has been viewed as "driving the last nail in the coffin" of Newton's corpuscle theory of light when it showed that light travels more slowly through water than through air. Memorable scientific gifts for all who know about light and optics with the illustration "Measuring The Speed Of Light Drives A Nail Through The Coffin Of Newton's Corpuscle Theory Of Light"!
