May Flower, Anemone narcissiflora Tile

Anemone narcissiflora, the May flower, is a member of the Ranunculaceae family, commonly known as the Crowfoot or Buttercup family. May flowers produce clusters of creamy yellow blossoms which turn white as they age. May flowers bloom in late May and through June on Unalaska Island, which is a member of the Aleutian Islands. May flowers are one of several wild species of anemone counted among the many wildflowers of Alaska. Anemone narcissiflora is the only known white anemone found in the Aleutian Islands.
