The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a sovereign state based in west Africa. The country name comes from the Berbers kingdom of Mauretania which is nowadays called Morocco and Algeria. Arabs were the first to conquer the area under the Umayyad Caliphate. The first occupants of the country was the Berber bringing Islam and Arabic culture. Mauritania was colonized by France until their independence in November 1960. The capital is Nouakchott and the country shares borders with the Atlantic ocean, Sahara, Mali, Algeria and Senegal. We have celebrated Mauritania independence Day every November 28th since 1960. This product is here to glorify our motherland and your roots or remind you where you come from.
