This charming painting was painted by Mary Cassatt in 1900. Although she was an American, Mary Cassatt lived much of her adult life in France. She was an Impressionist, and is best known for her paintings emphasizing the intimate bonds between mothers and children. Margot Lux, a child from the village near Cassatt’s country home, is the model for this painting. How adorable she is!
