About This Design

Maru Daki Hanagyoyou Tile

A family crest with Gyoyou (apricot leaves) motif. Gyoyou is a type of horse harness decoration attached to the chest and rear straps. The design is named after its resemblance to apricot leaves and has been used since ancient times on the continent. It was introduced to Japan during the Kofun period and has been excavated from various ancient tombs (according to 'Kamon no Jiten' by Takasawa et al.). This design was created with reference to 'Heian Monkan' (2015.11.10).
