Marcellus TWP Wood Memorial Library Water Bottle

Over 100 years ago, Russell A. Wood had the forethought to ensure that if he did not return from his enlistment in the U.S. Army, that he would still leave a lasting impact on our community. The 27 year old died of influenza in 1918, leaving $7,000 for the construction of a library building in Marcellus, Michigan. Construction was completed in August of 1925 and the original structure now contains the children's library, though the size of the building has expanded over decades. His image on this water bottle is a reminder of what one idealistic, generous person can do for the future of their community.
