Helena is the Capital of Montana. Back when this map was made in 1878, Helena was a gold rush town. By 1888, Helena boasted 50 millionaires .... more per capita than any city in the world. The original streets and blocks were windy and not of standard sizes because the city plotters worked their way around staked out mining claims. A few notable sites are highlight and remarked upon.
