This map is awesome because: 1. Denver was already an enormous city at this time. In 1900 Denver had 133,000 people, making it the third largest city in the Western United States. (It lost the title of second largest city in the Western United States to Los Angeles around 1890.) 2. In addition to showing individual buildings, the map shows pictures of street scenes. (for example "Fifteenth Street, Toward Capitol from Stout.") 3. The top-centre of the map pictures a "Colburn Roadster", the marquis vehicle of the Colburn Automobile Company. Although popular at the time, the car company would stop producing cars by 1911. No known Colburn cars are known to exist today.
