Magnet - Weeds Are Flowers

It struck me as ironic when I read this quote from renown author, A. A. Milne. I had been out in the garden taking pictures and my 81-year-old, Ecuadoran housemate said, "You miss a flower." I looked around and saw him pointing to this rather tall dandelion. I laughed and said, "That's not a flower, that's a weed." He looked at me strangely and said, "Still a flower." It dawned on me that he was right. Regardless of the value most of us may NOT associate with the dandelion, it does, indeed, still generate a rather impressive flower. Dandelions are a truly hardy plant, growing in scant amounts of soil where little else could root. It symbolizes the power of the sun and represents wishes coming true. The sun reference, no doubt, is because of the colour and shape of the densely petaled flower. The parallel to wishes coming true may be from the evolution of the flower to the puffy seed head that children love to wish on and blow on to send the whispy seeds flying. This lovely magnet pays tribute to noted author, A. A. Milne and is an excellent way of posting memos or showcasing your favourite photos on the refrigerator or file cabinet.
