Madonna and Child Postcard

This beautiful oil on canvas embodies innocence, graciousness, and tender cherishing. It’s titled “L’Innocence” (Innocence) and was painted in 1893 by William-Adolphe Bouguereau, a French painter who lived from November 30, 1825 to August 19, 1905. In his realistic genre paintings, he created modern interpretations of classical subjects. He was considered a Neoclassicist and a traditionalist. This painting has captured my heart, and I’m so glad to be able to share it with you. (The lovely background you see on the inside of the postcard is a floral pattern that, I feel, echoes the gentleness of the painting.)
