Luncheon of the Boating Party (1881) by Renoir is a vintage impressionism fine art painting. Fellow artist Gustave Caillebotte is seated in the lower right. Renoir's future wife Aline Charigot is in the foreground playing with a small dog. A group of Renoir's friends relaxing and enjoying a casual afternoon lunch party on a balcony at the restaurant Maison Fournaise along the Seine river in Chatou, France. About the artist: Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. Renoir's paintings are notable for their vibrant light and saturated colour, most often focusing on people in intimate and candid compositions.
